Dance as the Music

Why do we dance?
My partner started playing different kinds of music while i was working in the computer. All of them has a unique beat which interest me. One has an African beat with drums so i stood up and danced to the beat.  I enjoyed myself. These were some of  the music he played:
1. Afro Brazilian Music by Mestre Gildo Valu
2. Taj Majal  Music of Ancient India
3. Monkey and Turtle Tribal (Music)
While i was dancing, i became aware as the breath and the body movements so i became aware of where my hands went and how my feet were moving, how my body is moving, how my hips gyrate and how my neck moves. I became aware of how my facial muscles moved and how the lips moved and how my eyes moved. This was the first time i danced this way.
In the past i just danced according to the music. I would dance salsa when the music has a latin american music to it that requires some salsa moves or cha cha when there’s cha cha music or when the music is rock and roll i would dance with some rock and roll moves that i learned from the television or from friends. I learned a little bit of ballroom dancing so i usually go with some friends and dance the night away.
Why do i want to dance when i hear salsa music and not want to dance when there’s tango music? What is it that makes me want to dance more than sing?
Who was I within that dance – within that body movement? Was that me as the personality? Was that me as who i really am? Was I present as the breath in that very moment? Was the one dancing  I as that who I am equal to and as the body- as the substance – as life – directing those movements or was it me as the personality existing as an individual separate from all life existing within my relationship with everything and everyone – in separation from life?
I did not question these things. I just danced as if everything that i say and do was  what is. I did not realize i was  trapped as the personality defined by words i connected to definitions, judgments etc. which i gave it. I was not  there – the personality was there. The music words became less than what they were and dance words became more than what they were – because i made it more than or less than what they were through the definitions, judgments, ideas etc. i give them. Collectively, we abuse words this way and support the world system that is based from our acceptance and allowance of abusing words in our own lives.
Dance is a word. Words are sounds. Sounds are part of life. I am a part of life. We are all part of life. We make life what it is.
I am directing this here in this blog by doing self-forgiveness for separation from the word dance and the words i connected with it:
