No More Over Fishing of the Oceans
A quote about money:
”It establish the now. It is the energy within which the present moment of the human functions. It is the energy which determines which direction the present moment will take. It is the energy that determines what choices will be made. It is the energy that determines who will be in power. It is the energy that determines who will live and die. It is for all practical purposes, the ‘God of Man’.” – Bernard Poolman
I grew up near the ocean. I saw how the ocean became the source of livelihood of most of the people living in our town. They used fishnets and sometimes dynamites to get fish from the ocean to sell in the town market in exchange for money. The fish was seen as gold God put in the ocean to feed our greed. I saw how some families pay for the education of their children using money they got from fishing. Then on Sundays they would go to church to thank God for putting the fish in the ocean so they can earn money from them making man the perpetrator of greed and god an accessory to the crime.
The fish is in the ocean because that is the home of the fish in as much as the land is our home. We are all living off the earth. We humans are the custodians of the earth yet in this unequal monetary system we are the abusers of the earth. Inherent within our need to survive – is the need to compete with each other over the use of earth’s resources. We see earth’s resources as limited – not because it is in fact so, but because of the limit we put on others in accessing these resources as we exist in competition with each other.
In an equal money system, this will change. As we change our operating basis from survival to living life in dignity within living life as equals, the way we treat each other will change – from living life in competition with one another to honoring each other in gratitude within equal self-expression as life. We will not be over fishing the ocean to earn money because we all have equal amounts of money in our pocket to live life in dignity.
